John was born in Bottetourt Co.,VA 26 Feb 1764. March 1834 a George Smith of Sparta, TN requested a form to dispute John Puckett's request. Nov 1834 George Smith made an oath that he and John Puckett were raised in the same neighborhood in VA and he knows John did not serve in the War. Rev. Henry Burton and JP John Jett give oath of John'sWar service and his pension is approved 20 Dec 1834. John stated he was living in Washington Co.,VA when he served in the War. Two of John Puckett's daughters, Matilda and Malinda(twins) born 1813 married Thomas and Elijah Smith. s/o George Smith. The George Smith making the claim might not be the George Smith, father of Thomas & Elijah. Maybe someone has more information. Penny
