Researching the Ancestors & Descendents of Daniel & Comfort Pitman/Pittman who were in Dekalb Co. during the 1850 & 1860 Census. Their son David Pitman whom I descend thru moved back to Dekalb Co. TN after having left sometime prior to the 1870 Census in which his family and the families of his sisters along with his mother, Comfort were in Rutherford Co. TN. I'm trying to find out Comfort's maiden name....and where she and Daniel were married. I believe they were in Jackson Co. AL in the 1840 Census and that he is listed as David instead of Daniel.....I've seen the census images and it could be read as either David or Daniel (very similar.) Also am trying to account for all of their children & grandchildren which has been a real puzzle.
