    1. Re: [TNDEKALB] John "Jack" Reynolds
    2. Willie D Smith
    3. I'd like to get info on this bunch too! There apparently is a will for James Reynolds, I think in Smith County. His daughter Alcey married John Fisher III, grandson of old John Fisher of Warren County, TN the Revolutionary War veteran. John and Alcey's son Logan Gay Fisher of Putnam County was my ggg grandfather on my maternal grandmother's side of the family. He and his wife Martha Gregston Fisher are buried in the old Thomas cemetery near the Cookeville Boatdock Road area. I've never been there but would like to find it. There's a Driver cemetery up in Putnam County near Double Springs that isn't far from the Alex. Byers cemetery. This may be part of the same folks from DeKalb. This cemetery is just a tad bit above Baxter, which isn't far from Silver Point. My Jacob Grimes is buried at Alex. Byers, so I've been up there a few times. Will I would love to find land deed records, wills, etc...for all of these Reynolds boys you have mentioned. Logan and Martha were married in Smith County in 1853. Their daughter Alice C. Fisher married Charles Smith Jr. in DeKalb County, TN in 1874. Their daughter was Oma Green Smith (1880-1933) who married James Lawson Steele (1879-1919) in DeKalb on May 8, 1901. James L. and Oma Green (Smith) Steele were the parents of my maternal grandmother, Mary Dell Steele (1906-1987) wife of William Logan Rice (1904-1981), and they were married in Putnam County on March 23, 1926. From what I gather, Martha (Gay) Reynolds was descended from old Henry Gay of Isle of Wright, Virginia, so in all likelihood, that is also where our Reynolds families resided. Wake County is a strong possibility as well, since a lot of the Tidewater Virginians did move through Nansemond into Chowan, Perquimans, Gates Counties, etc.. and settled in Wake and surrounding counties. My wife's Copelands originated in Isle of Wright and wound up in Chowan and Perquimans and Pasquotank counties, N.C. Her Speights were also in Wake County, N.C. from Nansemond Co VA, and Perquimans and Gates Counties, N.C.
