Kristi, WOW!! What a nice thing to do, especially for those of us that are a 10 hour drive away. Do you happen to know what information is available from a marriage certificate in the 1870's? Thanks, Tammy Wow, I wished I only lived 10 hours away...I am in California and trying to research DeKalb County. Does anyone know where I can get an old county map.... I received an up to date one and my father is having a time placing things. He is 83 and his memory is good but the roads have changed to protect the innocent. Simple matter to check if you subscribe to Ancestry.com, etc. If not, each state has a census lookup list at Rootsweb. You could subscribe to the state list where she was born and post an inquiry. Just be sure to include as much information as you know. Her full name, date of birth, place of birth, names of any brothers/sisters, if known. In subject line, be sure to put the census year, county and surname you want searched.

The Mary Jane Manning in the cemetery pictures would be Mary Jane WEBB Manning. She was my great-grandmother's sister, daughter of John and Mary Ann Paty Webb. She was the wife of Isaac Newton Manning. I have grandchildren who are descended from another group of Mannings in the Gordonsville area. I've also been told there are 3 different groups of Mannings in the New Middleton/Gordonsville area and that they are not related. I wonder if way back there might be a connection. I have some information on Buford Manning and his descendants but very little (Gordonsville area). I have some information on Isaac Newton & Mary Jane Webb Manning's descendants (this cemetery). I'm trying to find out who this Sarah Anne is. I'm pretty certain this is my great great grandmother Francis Robinson because she was living right next door to Dempsey Taylor in 1870 and this is who she married. Thanks, Tammy
