    1. [TNDEKALB] ROLL CALL: BRAY, CUBBINS, HENDRIX, HOLLINGSWORTH, MURPHY, SQUIRES
    2. Jerry Parker
    3. DeKalb County TN ancestors I am searching for are: LUCINDA "LOU" BRAY (b. abt 1830) was the daughter of Tempa Bray and an unknown Mr. Bray. She appears in the 1850 Warren Co TN census in the household of Tempa Bray, a female head of household. She appears in the 1860 DeKalb CO TN census in the household of Robert N. "Nix" Cathcart. She married Leroy "Lee" Braswell of Dry Creek on November 18, 1865 in Warren Co TN. She was Braswell's second wife. Their children were Ella Frances, Herschel, and Charles. I am searching for the father of Lucinda Bray. WILLIAM EMERY CUBBINS (abt 1820 - 1848). He married Unicey Cubbins (1818 - 1890, dau of Sampson Braswell and Priscilla Williams of Dry Creek). Their children were: John Emery Cubbins (b. abt 1840), Paralee (3 Mar 1841 - 26 Feb 1915), and Jane (b. abt 1845). [Paralee and her husband James Roland "Red Jim" Fuston were my gg-grandparents.] I can find nothing about William Emery Cubbins except a record of the court's making provision for his widow. MALINDA ADELINE HENDRIX (b. abt 1829) was the wife of Dixon Allen Parker [son of Lewis Parker and Elizabeth "Betsy" Yeargin]. I am seeking information about her and her ancestry. NANCY HOLLINGSWORTH (b. 1812) was the wife of Josiah "Si" Fuston. I am looking for her parents and family. DOCK MURPHY (b. abt 1832) married Eliza Dennis (dau of Henry Dennis and Lafatia "Patience" Parker) on 2 Aug 1849. They initially lived with the Dennis family in the Gassaway community, just outside the DeKalb County line. Dock Murphy's name has been spelled as Murfrey, Murphey, Murphrey, as well as Murphy. He was sometimes listed by the initials "B.F." or "D.F." I am looking for his ancestors and family. DORCAS SQUIRES and TABITHA SQUIRES. Dorcas Squires was the wife of Meredith Ballinger and mother of David Thomas Ballinger (1848 - 1935) of Dry Creek. [David married Mary Jane Cathcart, dau of George W. Cathcart and Demaris Braswell.] It appears Dorcas died at David's childbirth, and Meredith married her sister Tabitha. There is a family tradition that Dorcas and Tabitha were orphans raised by Dr. J. G. Squires of Liberty TN and they adopted his surname even though not legally adopted. I am searching for the ancestry and/or information about Dorcas Squires and Tabitha Squires.

    2. Kathleen Burnett
    3. Dear List Members, Lets have a Roll Call this weekend. The Roll Call will begin on Thursday Morning April 18th and continue on through Sunday evening April 21st. (PLEASE DO NOT BEGIN TO SEND YOUR ROLL CALL POSTINGS UNTIL THURSDAY MORNING.) Post your Surnames, dates townships if known and if you are posting to multiple counties that I take care of, be sure and mention county. If you are posting to a county along a state line when I take care of lists on both sides, you might also mention the state. You are welcome to post as much information as you wish and as little as long as there is a Surname, county and or time period. Be sure and watch the Subject line and CHANGE IT TO MATCH YOUR ROLL CALL POSTING to encourage members to read your message, such as ROLL CALL: SMITH, JONES, KELLETT 1830-1870 COUNTY NAME. PLEASE DO NOT JUST HIT RETURN AND TYPE IN YOUR INFORMATION!!!! CHANGE THE SUBJECT LINE AND DELETE THE LAST MESSAGE LONG WITH TAGLINES. Following these instructions will make this a much better Roll Call for all our members including yourself. For those members who do not like Roll Calls, just delete the messages and know that come Sunday night - it will be over. I continue to appreciate your support. It is because of each of you that our list is as strong as it is. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

I had put my families census records that pertained to Dekalb Co. TN online from my Dekalb Co. Research page located at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rmbeckman/dekalbco.html As I researched the census and collected more census data I have been adding that info onto the listing of Census transcriptions (which is linked from the above page) While these pages do not contain the Entire Census there is alot of information there especially if you are researching Payne Fisher or Pitman connections. Additionally I went thru the Dist 8 in 1870 Census and the 15th Dist in 1900 Census and made a listing of each household's Surname. These also are accessible from the above link. Hopefully someone other than myself will find something useful in them. --Marie --=======18186EE9=======--
