Thanks Marie. Then the Margaret MARTIN I am looking for must have gotten married. She was not listed with her family in 1880. Does anyone out there have the marriage books? Belinda, What time frame are you searching for and who in particular. I am not (that I am aware of yet) direct kin to Scott,Yeargin,or Bennett.(Dekalb(formerly Smith Co )TN), but my direct line of GRIFFITHs intermarried w/ Scott's and Yeargin's. The Bennett family was neighbor of GRIFFITH(same area). My VICK line also married Yeargins (twice) Maybe? Hello, Would someone please lookup Margaret J. MARTIN b. 1860 Thanks, Joanne May those who love us love us; And those that don't love us; May God turn their hearts. And if He doesn't turn their hearts, May he turn their ankles, So we'll know them by their limping.
Willie D. Smith: Your Bozarth information yesterday was very interesting. Do you have them connected to a Alex Smith, son of C.C.Dick Smith of Dekalb Co., TN? I think you have solved a mystery for me. [email protected]
I just heard a short history on the subject at Dekalb Genealogy Meeting Thursday. It was given by Jerry Winfrey of Smithville. Thanks Janet, for suggesting the Davenport list. Ann
Since you have Allen Info, I would like to ask you if you have anything about Callie Allen? I have heard a great deal about her, and know I have a connection to her, just am not sure what it is. Then she is listed in the house hold of my great-grandfather as his granddaughter Thanks Florence > These two could be adopted. They had a brother named John. > Margaret Allen ? 12, TN > John Allen ? > Cravin Allen ? 8, TN
Hi, Thanks so much for the Census, Mary Ross
Researching all these lines as they connect to the PACK line in DeKalb CO. Thomas Pack, died Dade CO, Georgia . . who are his parents and siblings. Matilda Durham, parents and siblings Frank Phillips, where did he go? George W. Jones, what happened to him? Jinkins Greer, anything on him. Rachel Jones Phillips married a Hendricks. What happened to her? Rebecca Pack
I'm sorry to say that I do not have any information on the Allen family. My Grandfather said that his parents died when he was 6. He was born in 1872 so at 6, his parents dying would be consistent with the Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1878. I found my GF in the home of Chas. Crofford in the 1880 census. He said that the neighbors took he and his siblings to raise. One neighbor took his brother John and moved away. He never saw his brother again. During a search on this list another reader was gracious enough to provide me with information on a John T. Allen, who was adopted, and was 8 years old during the 1880 census in DeKalb County, TN. I have yet to find any information on him. Thanks for asking. > Since you have Allen Info, I would like to ask you if you have anything about > Callie Allen? Does anyone know anything about a Uriah Davis who sold land in Smith (now DeKalb Co) in 1829?
researching Steele, Edmonds, Elrod, Carter, Cope, Walker, Starkey, & countless others connected to these families in the middle TN area surrounding Dekalb Co. So many names, too little time. Thanks for the roll call, list mom! You`re doing a wonderful job! brenda carter pegg
Dear List Members, This Roll Call is over. I want to thank each of your for making it the success it was. I know that Roll Calls cause lots of extra mail, and the way you handled this one is appreciated by myself and your fellow members of this list. If you missed the Roll Call, you are still welcome to post your information and your queries, but PLEASE do not place Roll Call in the subject line. I would also appreciate it if each of you would be careful in the next few days and watch your Subject lines to make sure that we are not passing on the words Roll Call. Again I thank you for your support. It is because of each of you that our list is a great place to share information about our ancestors and the areas they came from, migrated to and settled in. Dear List Members, There is one hour left for the Roll Call. Send in your postings. At 8:00 pm Mountain Standard time, this Roll Call is over. You can still send messages, postings and queries to the list, but you cannot use Roll Call in the Subject line. I will send out the announcement calling it to an end. Kathleen Burnett List Mom
Thanks No I am interested in the Youngbloods, and wanted to make sure I had right maiden name for his wife. So Elizabeth Griffin married first a Wood. Do you know if Nettie Youngblood ever married? D. MITCHELL JONES http://www.dmitchelljones.org
I'm looking for information on this family from the 1880 DeKalb County census. Ches. Crofford, WM 62 b. VA (other sources say it's Chas. Crofford, b. ca. 1818 TN) Elizabeth Crofford, wife 54, TN Rachel Crofford, dau. 14, TN Margaret A. Crofford, dau. 12, TN Cravin A. Crofford, son 8, TN These two could be adopted. They had a brother named John. Margaret Allen ? 12, TN John Allen ? Cravin Allen ? 8, TN
Mitchell, I don't mean to be rude (so please forgive if I'm offensive), but the name is Griffith, not Griffin. Yes, Turner L. Wood married as his second wife, Elizabeth Parilee Griffith. T. L. is called Wood/Word/Ward in records; as a seasoned researcher, I'm sure you understand how that happens. I don't, at this point, know anything further about Nettie, but will certainly pass on anything new on her (I just have not pursued her).
