    3. Ann Enjoyed reading this claim,. Thanks much for making it available. The wording of it, really set the stage of the local activity.--I felt myself right in the middle of the controversy. My grgr granddad, Jonathan W, GRIFFITH was also in 5th Reg Tenn Cav Company A(Capt Blackburn's Co) He also enlisted for 3 years. on July 28,1862-.-------He was a neighbor of your Davis bunch, and a relative(Elizabeth GRIFFITH(dau of John GRIFFITH) who married Reuben Davis was his 1st cousin). Jonathan W. was the son of Moses GRIFFITH, brother of John GRIFFITH. My Jonathan probably went with his Davis kin ,friends &,neighbors and enlisted on the same day. Thanks again-Great. 3. Could this be the Albert G. Davis who was the administrator of William B. Rice's will in 1848, DeKalb County, TN? I think he was on 1850 DeKalb County census. Think also he was on 1830 White County census and 1840 DeKalb County census. There was also an A. G. Davis who moved to Davidson County after 1850. I've been trying to figure out if perhaps William B. Rice's widow Eleanor may have been a Davis. She was born 1792 in South Carolina. During the civil war, he lived about 2 1/2 miles from John Davis Jr. (s/o John Davis Sr. and Abigail Duncan). The other witnesses were William Davis (s/o John Jr), Reuben P. 3. ETTA, After receiving some other information, I now know that David Curtis who married Nancy Jane Johnson is a DIFFERNET David and is the s/o William C. Curtis and Elizabeth Tune. It is by working together, and comparing all our records, that we're getting to the truth! Thanks for everyone's help! *Now does anyone have any information on Lewis Y. Davis or Joseph Davis - sons of John Davis Sr. and Abigial Duncan? The Oct 23, 1889 issue of Liberty Herald says: "Uncle Lewis Y. Davis of Cottage Home was here Friday on his return home from a visit in Nashville. " **Where is Cottage Home? For Joseph Davis descendants, I'm looking for any information on descendants of these marriages: --John Davis and Tabitha Hill who married March 24, 1854 DeKalb Co., TN --James Davis and Louisa White who married Sept 20, 1857 DeKalb Co., TN ---Moses Davis and Susan Litton who married Dec 28, 1865 Thanks for any help on the above! 2. Ann, Thanks for your information on the Curtis family. I have been comparing your information on David Curtis with that from Ernest Howell who is a descendent of David. Ernest says that David left DK CO and spent the remainder of his life in KY. He married Martha Susan Hughes in 1860. You have David's wife as Nancy J. Johnson and say that David continued to live in DK CO. I have explored the David and Nancy Curtis listed in District 12 DK 1880 Census (your David). According to my records if David was 12 in 1850, he was probably b. abt. 1838. The David in the 1880 Census listed at 27 was probably b. abt. 1853. HELP!!! Etta
