Yes I have checked deeds. And I have copies of several. One of them is how I found that Elizabeth, his wife, was married before. But the only thing I've found about his death is those court minutes which I sent for and received. But they do not have how he died. They do give me a time frame. S. L. McClure died before 5 Jan 1870 (Dec TN, Co Ct Min, 1/93-96, 131, & 2/109, 130). Elizabeth died before 1 Nov 1875 (Dec Tn., Co Ct Min 2/211, 214).
