Hi Sharon, I've run across the name HAYS often in my Decatur Co. search, but since I'm not related I haven't paid much attention. But in a few pages I copied for my LUNSFORDs and MCCLUREs I found the following in TN Tidbits extracted for Co. Court Minutes, which you may have already seen: 1. Under the name "Josephine DUKE" the following: "On 1 Aug 1970 Asa N. HAYS gave bond as her Garden [I assume this is guardian] with Wm H. Bayan, Theopelas Lane and Lewis KINDLE as security. On 3 January 1872 Asa N. HAYS, Guardian ob ? DUKE, was ordered to pay sixty two dollars to Martha Herinton? the mother of Said Minor for Board, clothing etc." 2. Under HAYS, J. C. the following: "Died befoe 3 February 1879 when W. H. HAYS gave bond as administrator, with Asa N. HAYS ans S. L. HAYS as security. Asa N. HAYS gave bond as guardian of James J. Hays, minor heir." 3. Under "HAYS, Samuel L." the following: "Died before 4 July 1871 when Asa N. HAYS made bond as Guardian for William Hays {Mays} and Asa N. HAYS, minor heirs of Samuel L. HAYS decest. D. C.Kennedy and J. M. Fryor were security. 6 Mar 1876 Asa N. HAYS gave bond as guardian of William Hays and Asa N. HAYS, Jr." 4. Under EVANS, Mary A.: Died before 7 May 1877 when John W. LUNSFORD gave bond as guardian of Daniel E. Evans, minor heir, with Asa N. HAYS and C. B. Murphy as security. Asa N. HAYS gave bond as administrator on 4 August 1879."
