Hi Sharon, There's not been much / any discussion yet. I ran across an article about the Underground Railroad activity in Henderson Co. It was the first I had read, although knowing a large number of the county was pro - Union, it was not surprising. The article in particular named Asa Hays as a participant. I was interested in whether there were any other families that were known of who were also participants in the underground RR. What I shared about my relative was told to my mom by my grandmother as she had heard it from her grandfather and is all I know. My mom might have more details. To me, all the stories are the meat to fill in our family tree skeletons.
