There are a lot of other Maness that descended from Scotts Hill area. Jacob, the first recorded one I have, married Hulda Austin. They had 9 children: Lucinda, b. 1839; Matilda Jane, b. 1840. m. Charles Duck, d. 1922; Pleasant Allen, b. 1842, d. 1918'; Matilda Ann,b. 1845,d. 1913; Minerva Abigail, 1847-1902; m. a Preslar; Lucy, 1850-1938, m. Elias Deaton Duck; William , 1852-1930; Cynthia, 1857-1925, m. Benjamin Dyer. some of the children of these 9 died as late as the 1960's. This is all information from the book by Gordon H. Turner.
