In the Biographical Directory preliminary volume for Madison County there was one person from Decatur County. It was a name I so associate with Parsons that I was surprised to see it. Townsend, Jr. Member of Baptist Church; Elks; Knights of Pythias; W.O.W.; Mason and Shiner. Before 1950 he removed to Parsons, Decatur County. Brother of William B.
