I'm a resident of another state and not a resident of Tennessee nor Decatur County, nor the surrounding area of Natchez Trace State Park, but I have family ties to the area. Who should I write to in Tennessee? Tom E. This isn't and e-mail query. This is informative e-mail. We are in the process of loosing part of our Historical background. A lot of us on this e-mail have roots that began in the Natchez Trace Area of West Tn. The state has proposed putting a Prison near Maples Lake at the old boy scout camp. Not a small prison either. They will employee 440 people and house 1600+ inmates. What of the family cemetaries in this area. Where will we go when we want to go back and visit the old family homesite. WE need to take a stand. The land was taken from the families (and many didn't want to leave) for conservation purposes, made into a State Park, a Forrestry Area. Let's keep it that way. Voice your opinion. Contact your state Representatives. Speak up before it is too late...... Laurel >>
