I have two small children at home and can't get out to the LDS or library to look these up myself. (The boys aren't too impressed with microfilm readers and being quiet). I'm searching for information on Elender Hendrix (roll 1537, page 179). She was apparently living near Lexington and was listed as head of household. I wonder if she is possibly the mother of my husband's great-great-grandfather, Newton J. Hendrix (a/k/a Isaac N. Hendrix)? I found this family in 1850, 1860, and 1880 in Decatur County, but cannot find them in 1870. By 1900, they had moved to Dyer County. I had hoped they were still in Decatur County in 1870, but so far no luck finding them. Newt Hendrix and Mary Jane Gibson were married in Decatur County in 1871, and Newt's brother, William P. Hendrix, married Lucinda Odle in 1871, so I know the family was in the vicinity -- I just haven't been able to find them! She was always listed as "E." Hendrix, so I assumed her name was Elizabeth. She was apparently never married but did have three children with the same man. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated! Karen
