    3. The following obituaries appeared in the Decatur County Chronicle on Tuesday, August 1 2000. I will try to do this each week since I have finished with summer chaos. Athalia Taylor Decatur county Librarian Mrs. Nancy C. Daugherty, 58, passed away Monday, July 24, 2000 at Decatur County Hospital. Funeral services were held 2 PM, Wednesday, July 26 at Parsons Mortuary Chapel with Brother Robin Rotgers and Brother Rick Cottrell officiating. Interment was at Campground Cemetery in Decaturville. Mrs. Daugherty is survived by her husband, Johnny Daugherty of Parsons; one daughter, Vicki Forrester and son-in law Chuck of Parsons; three brothers, Ralph Yarbro of Memphis, Eugene Yarbro of Coldwater, MS; and J.L. Yarbro of Covington, TN; three sisters, Ruthie Middleton of Parsons, Dorthy Reeves of Darden, and Joyce Sartain of Memphis; two grandchildren Eric and Alex. Casketbearers were Don Stephens, Charles Forrester, O. Dean Barnickle, Dewey Spoon, Joe Ledbetter, and Ted Daugherty. Honorary casketbearers were Junior Daugherty, Carmac Daugherty, and Harry Stampfi. Mrs. Ellen H. Douglas, 78, passed away Thursday, July 27,2000 in Hickory Hill, Illinois. Graveside services were held at noon on Monday, July 31, with brother Tom Reed officiating. Interment was at Yellow Springs Cemetery in Holladay. Mrs. Douglas is preceded in death by her husband, Harry J. Douglas. She is survived by one daughter, Becky Howard of Bridgeview, IL; six brothers, James Hickerson of Parsons, Osco Hickerson, Wayburn Hickerson, Al Hickerson, and Mac Hickerson, all of Holladay, Bill Hickerson of AL; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers were family and friends. Mrs. Annie Mae Gwin, 59, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2000. Funeral services were held 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 30, 2000 atBond Memorial Chapel with Brother Bob Capra officiating. Interment was at 1:00 PM Monday, July 31, 2000 at Mount Tabor Cemetery in Parsons, TN. Mrs. Gwin is preceded in death by her father, Richard Smith and a brother, Russell Smith. She is survived by her husband Sam Gwin, Jr. of Mt. Juliet, TN; her mother, Mary Spellings Smith of Decaturville, TN; two sons, John A. (Rosa) Hessmer and Marty SMith McLemore both of Mt. Juliet, TN; two daughters, Mary Johna McLemore of Murfreesboro, TN and Samantha Ann Medrano of Henderson, NV; four brothers, Spellings SMith, Glynn Smith, Danny Smith and Lynn Smith all of Decaturville, TN; two sisters, Katie Rushing of Decaturville, TN and Judy Wulfert of Scotts Hollow, TN; and four granchildren, Patrick James Duarte and Samuel Allen Hessmer, both of Mt. Juliet, TN and Daniel Medrano and Shelby Ann Medrano, both of Hend! erson, NV. Mr. Leslie Blackwell, 76, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2000 at Decatur County Hospital. Funeral services were held 3:00 pm Sunday, July 20, 2000 at Parsons Mortuary chapel with Brother Ronnie Parrish officiating. Interment was at Darden cemetery. Mr. Blackwell is preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Lou Blackwell and one daughter, Bessie Blackwell. He is survived by one son, Ronnie Blackwell of Darden, TN; five daughters, Kathleen Blackwell, Rita Camper, and Mayrene Blackwell all of Darden, Linda Cotham and Ann Blackwell both of Parsons; two brothers Carl Blackwell of Darden and Rayvon Blackwell of Decaturville, TN; two sisters, Mary Hays of Parsons and Lorene Reeves of Darden, TN; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Pallbearers were Robert Reeves, Bruce Blackwell, Doug Yates, Kevin Yates, J.L. Blackwell and Harold Hendrix. Mr Ray Vernon Miller, 89, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2000 at Camden General Hospital in Camden, TN. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday July 20d, 2000 at Sugar Tree Community Church with Reverend Lee Hyden. Interment will be at Oakgrove Cemetery. Mr. Miller was preceded indeath by his parents, Rubin Sherman Miller and Lee Isadora Miller; five brothers, Mina Miller, Leonard Miller, Sherman Miller, Raymond Miller and Guy Miller; and three sisters, Ruby Marss, Lorene Cotham and Lena Henry. He is survived by his wife, Cleao Baker Miller; and one daughter, Sandra Scott of Holladay, TN. Pallbearers were gregory Scott, Stephen Scott, Herry Miller, Frank Miller, Himmy Miller, Robert Henry, Billy Henry, Richard Cotham, and Jackie Miller. Mr. J.T. Moore, 79, passed away Friday, July 28, 2000 at Decatur County General Hospital. Funeral services were held 2:00 PM Sunday, July 30, 2000 at Brewer Funeral Home Chapel in Parsons, TN with Brother James Keeton officiating. Interment was at Crossroads Cemetery in Parsons. Mr. Moore is preceded in death by his parents, Harbert and Montico Mayes Moore, two brothers, Joe B. Moore and Buron "Buddy" Moore; and one sister Betty Lou Mason. He is survived by his wife, Nina Coleman Moore of Decaturville, TN; three daughters, Patsy Huddleston and Elaine Essary, both of Nashville, and Janice Griggs of Decaturville; two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Thomas Keeton, David Keeton, Dara Keeton, Jerry Coleman, Tim Coleman, Alan Coleman, Denny Bush and Billy Alley. Honorary pallbearers were Bud Johnson and Newman Ivy.
