    1. Re: [TNDECATU] James and Jemima Jackson Perry Co, TN 1840 census
    2. Unfortunately at this point I do not have any information to help you. Jackson is such a common name but it is interesting yours and mine are in the same place, same time. William Jackson b 1797 and his sister Rebecca b 1810 were born in North Carolina. They moved to Perry County around 1830. William married Charlotte Kerus and had 2 sons prior to moving to Tenn. Rebecca married Thomas John Carter. He died in a well cave in near Linden Sep 1833. Their only child was born in Dec 1833 near Lindon. Rebecca remarried about 1836 to John Sullivan. They had 3 children prior to moving to Missouri about 1843. Linden is on the east side of the Tennessee River. In 1845 the west side became Decatur county. There was a William Jackson and a John Sullivan living on the west side in 1837 and I believe both voted for the division of the counties. So many of the records were lost in the fire of 1865. But who knows maybe someday we will find the missing links. Your James could be a brother to my William and Rebecca. I'm not sure when North and South Carolina became 2 states. Any way lets keep in touch. Janet
