Minnie Gilbert was at one time the Postmistress of the post office in Luray, TN in Henderson County. I was told in 1979 that she was related to my grandfather, Richard "Dick P." Allen, also of Luray. Grandpa Dick P. Allen died in 1924, and his wife Sally married the postman Mr. Lafayette "Lev" Stanfill. Grandpa Dick P.'s first wife was Amanda Gibson nee Tracy of Perry Co. Their sons James E., Thomas J., and Grover Cleveland "Cleve" Allen, all born prior to 1885, all gravitated toward Parsons and other parts of Decatur Co. They had daughters Ida, Emma and Sarah, as well. I would welcome the chance to exchange information about any of these individuals and learn more about the older children of my grandfather and Amanda Tracy. Any information about Minnie Gilbert and how she relates to Dick P. Allen would also be welcomed.
