Betty, I have come across the placename Pope in Perry Co. That is where my great-uncle Joseph Henry Allen and his wife Frances Byrd Allen lived after 1864 and before the turn of the century. However, I am not aware of there being a connection between the names Pope and Allen. To answer more to the point, no, I have not come across anyone by the name of Pope. Are you aware of a connection?
