I am researching the Floyd family of Decatur County. I can make some assumptions based on the census records, but there are no marriage records available before 1865 online. Can anyone tell me if there are marriage records for Decatur County before 1865 and how they can be accessed? I would also like to hear from anyone who is researching this family. My main target is William Forest Floyd born 1864 in Decatur. His mother was Elizabeth ? and his father is undetermined at this time, although I have a few ideas. I would appreciate any help at all. Thank you. Peggy

Hi Bill, I'm confused. I received your information on the Stone family. Thanks very much. Previous information I received stated that Jane Monroe Stone was the daughter of John Stone. In the info I got from you the other day it stated that Jane was the daughter of Francis Stone, Jr. and Martha P. Williams. Is the latter correct. I have tried to locate info on variouis genealogy sites but have had no luck. Thanks for you help. Dorothy Straub. I am trying to find information on my great great grandparents. They are George Williamson and Eliza Hooper. They were both born in TN and that is all I know about them. They had a son named Tom, one named Riley and three daughters, Tennie, Mary (Mollie), and Alice. Riley, Tennie, Alice and Mary all ended up in Dunklin Co., MO. If anyone has any information on the TN Hooper's or Williamson's, I would appreciate any help. Thanks a lot. Charlotte McClain Christensen
http://www.tngenweb.org/records/decatur/cemeteries/slater.htm One cemetery lost in the shuffle was Slater. I have just now placed it online. The James F. Slater and Emma Hay from the marriage records are buried here. There are 8 fieldstone-marked graves, one of which might be the 1906 death. Markers with carved names were not used at this cemetery until the 1950s. For everyone, please check to see if any cemeteries are missing. David
