    3. could someone tell me what happened to the web page of David Donahue of Decatur-Henderson CO. It had a lot of family trees of different people from both countys. A lot of people sent him their trees and he included them on the page. He had just about everyone in Decatur Co. on it. I know he is dead and he took a lot of information to the library, but this was on the internet from netease. Ima

    2. No, I don't know from where the Tescue name derives, however I did have a 1st cuz in Decatur County Tn. with the name. He is now deceased. I'm pretty sure I've seen the name otherwise in the Tn Goodman line I have researched. If you learn anything from your inquiry, I too would like to know. Thank you, Tom Goodman

Ssomeone might know who he is looking for. MOM ----- Original Message ----- From: Brian Laster To: barbsteg@aeneas.net Sent: Saturday, November 27, 2004 9:35 PM Subject: Laster genealogy My name is Brian Laster. I am researching my family tree. My great-grandfather (James Washington Laster) died in 1917 at a young age of 31 years. His father John Frank Laster died in 1920. As a result my immediate family knows very little about their Laster roots--thus my quest of discovery. Census research has let me to Decatur County, TN where I can confirm the location of William Burrell Lasiter in 1850. Now I am searching for his parents. Also listed in Decatur County ca 1850 is William & Martha Lasiter. They are of an age that it would be possible for them to have a son the same age as William BurrelI. Since many families traveled in groups I am making an assumption that William Lasiter is Burrell's father.I would appreciate any information you would be willing to share to confirm or refute this assumption. Any knowledge you have on Decatur County Laster, Lasiter, Lasater, Lassiter etc. would be greatly appreciated Best regards, Brian Laster brianlaster@comcast.net 615 771-9920

    2. RE: GOVERNMENT BILL TO RESTRICT ACCESS TO BIRTH CERTIFICATES Below is some information from a flyer I received while at regional Mormon Library in my area. The staff was urging that people write their congressman in U.S. House of Representatives. What I did was to copy letter written by NGS & FGS and then personalized, including that I was a registered voter and that I was researching my ancestors. House Resolution 10 (H.R. 10) seeks to restrict access to birth certificates. Bills's sponsor is DENNIS HASTERT. This bill has been FAST TRACKED. Website for copy of letter written by David Rencher, Chairman of the Record Access and Preservation Committee, a joint committee of the National Genealogical Societies and Federation of Genealogical Societies, to Dennis Hastert: http://www.fgs.org/rpa/formalactions.htm TO VIEW BILL: http://thomas.loc.gov TO FIND NAME OF YOUR CONGRESSMAN and email from same website: http://www.house.gov/writerep/ It took less than 3 minutes to copy letter, add my comments, and email my congressman. I heard back from his office within 5 minutes after I sent the email. Please make your voice heard, let's keep access to birth certificates. Thank you. Linda
