Ada Ashcraft b-1884 TN, d- 1927 AR. Her son, Floyd Jones told me she "was from" Perryville, TN. Not sure if that meant she was born there or that is where she was living when her husband Thomas A Jones met her while he was staying at her mother's boarding house. Thomas and Ada were married in Prairie Co, AR in 1902. Any info would be appreciated. Jacki-Kay

Zachariah migrated to Roane Co. Tenn. sometime after 1810. From there all the other Tenn Tuten's came. Some of these Tuten's later migrated to Texas, New Mexico, Alabama, and Mississippi. A prevalence of the family remained in S.C. and migrated much later to Georgia and Florida about 1840. We need to fill a lot of holes? Can anyone add?

Hi all, as long as we are mentioning missing headstones...James D. Akin's tall headstone is missing out of the Spence Cem. in Decatur Co. It was a real tall one with a Masonic symbol on it. I found it one year and when I came back in the spring to take a picture of it it was gone. How someone could get that heavy of a stone out of the cem. is beyond me. Fran West Rockford, MI
The tombstones you mention, with names, came from Bethel cemetery located on Highway 104 on the right side of the road about 1 mile south from Scotts Hill. The cemetery contains at least 99 marked graves and 88 unmarked graves. See Decatur County, Tennessee Cemetery Records pages 54 - 57. R. C. Believe you have the wrong Willkiam White as husband to Nancy Lacy. Believe Nancy Lacy married William White b 1864 d 1893,son of Nowell White and Nancy J. Russell. The marriage license lists Charles Reuben White as bondsman, and Charles Reuben was Nowells son also. The late Bonnie White Allen of Decatur WAS the Grandaughter of Nowell. Have been looking for the father of Humphrey White for years to no avail. Are you of the William White/Nancy Lacy line? ----- Original Message ----- From: <RWhiteCRNA@aol.com> To: <TNDECATU-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, May 30, 2005 5:22 PM Subject: [TNDECATU] Re: WHITES OF DECATUR > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/JeB.2ACE/242.2 > > Message Board Post: > > Do you have any updated information on Humphreys White?
