Benjamin Jr. born 25 may 1842 Randolph Co. AL. moved to Ittawamaba Co. MS. with his parents Benjamin MORRIS & Mary HOLEMS (1808-1852) (both from NC) when he was abt. six yrs. old. Benjamin Jr. married Rona Jane SHELDON 14 Jan 1861 in Ittawamaba, MS. he was in the Civil War (43rd MS. INF.) There is a Civil War marker at his grave sight. my 3rd. great grandparents moved to Decatur County bef. 1870 (on census) his father and stepmother Heariet J. COBURN remained in MS. until aft. the 1870 census, then moved also. Benjamin Morris Sr. born 14 Feb. 1809 died at Scotts Hill, 25 Dec 1882 buried Doe Creek Cem. Ben. Jr. died 20 Apr. 1917 Parsons and buried Mt. Tabor Cem. he was a Methodist Minister. Rona Jane Sheldon born 25 Nov 1845 TN. died 1 Sept 1898 I do not know where she is buried, somewhere in Parsons, I believe. My great grandmother Mary Elizabeth Morris 8 July 1864 was born at Parsons, she died in Wetumka, OK. 20 Mar 1944 the wife of Hugh N. JONES from- Henderson Co. TN. they marr: at Decaturville, 25 Aug 1883. My grandmother Curtis L. Jones was born at Parsons, 22 Jan 1898 she died in Wetumka, OK. 25 May 1924 my dad was only seven yrs. old when she died.
