Phyllis Hello Phyllis, When you have some extra time, could you please look for Jacob and GreenBerry CONDER. Jacob was in Decatur in 1870 and I believe much earlier than that date. GreenBerry was in Hardin in 1880, but he is believed to be a son of Jacob CONDER. Greenberry married Serina KELLY, but I do not know which county. I do know my Ephriam Riley CONDER married Elizabeth Jane RUDDLE/RUDDELL in 1870 'sh in Decatur County. Your offer is very much appreciated. 3. I'll see if I can find anything to fit this and let you know. FOUND IT! Dora B. Riggs, b. May 1878, md. T.W. Davis 13 Jul 1902, She was the daughter of Samuel W. Riggs and Margaret J. Hill. The way I have this figured out: Margaret was the daughter of Dutton and Miriam (Myram) Lassiter Hill. She married 1st A.D. Colwick abt 1858 and had 2 sons, her husband must have died before 1870 because she is living with Samuel W. Riggs then, with the 2 Colwick boys, She had 4 daughters by Riggs: Miriam, b. Mar 1870;Addie, Mar. 1874, md. John Batten 25 Apr 1895, Dora B. (above) and Bedie Edna, b. Mar 1879, died 1965, md. Alonzo Bowman 13 Mar 1897. I have a copy of the new Decatur County History and can do some look-ups as I have time. I also have the 2 books of marriage records and made my own brides index. Glad to help. At that site, I cannot publicize your offer unless you are the author of the book you'll do look-ups in or can supply me with written permission from the authur to do so. However, if you have a Decatur Co source and are willing to do look-ups for others on this list, that's a different matter. Just send a message with your offer. 1850 Decatur and Henderson Co Census will do look-ups as time permits [in other words, be patient :-) ] send FIRST and SURNAME if at all possible Renea Burkholder TNGenWeb Coordinator for Decatur Co., TN http://www.tngenweb.usit.com/decatur Listowner: Decatur Co, TN Mail list TNDECATU- L@rootsweb.com

    3. Glenda sent this message to me rather than the list, but I thought it would be good for it to be read by all of you too. Renea The more the merrier! The more we connect to, the more we learn. As far as I know, I don't have anybody to researchin Henderson Co., but you never know, do you? I've made a lot of connections (cousins) on the DanvilleCrossing list and I find we kind of look out for each other's surnames and because of the "atmosphere" we get to know each other. I think that's why the reunion in 1999 is catching on so fast. Everybody wants to meet each other and put a face to a name. SO FAR, I haven't made the same kind of connections on the Decatur list but am hoping. Your helpful hint on my SAINT line sent me looking for SANT and when I get a chance to get to the library, I bet I can get past my "brick wall" on that line. There was a hint in your message about Perry Co., and I've subscribed to that list but so far not one message from that list. Guess I need to put out a feeler and see what comes up. I like a list with a lot of activity and I read thru most of the ones from the county or surname lists even if the subject line doesn't interest me, just in case. But I do delete a lot of messages from other lists, i.e. GenTips, etc. and in fact they're almost too active for my taste but every now and then I get a good tip on a website so I keep subscribing. 3. Hi Barbara, the info. came from 2 sources. One from Mrs George Pratt in MO and the other from a Pratt book. It is listed as she is the "poss." sister of my Richard as they were all in the same general area in NC. The info that Palena is m. to John Jr also comes from Mrs. George Pratt. As of 2 years ago she was getting ready to submit it to the LDS ancestral file when I sent her all my info on John Henry Pratt's dau. Lillie who m. my greatgrandfather J. W. Blakeman. I do not think it was ever submitted. Her husband had just died and her heart was just not in it anymore. I do not know if she is still alive either. They are not online but there is another Pratt researcher that is and he is Shawn Bohannon. E-mail address is not handy right now but will have to go back into my records to get it. We have just sumitted our gedcom file to Ancestry's World Tree. It will be under the e-mail address of : MdDgWest@aol.com Check it out sometime. Fran in Michigan

    3. The John Doyle I am referring to is the father of John R. Doyle. I do know that John's wife's name was Mary and that she was called Polly, maiden name unknown. On what do you base the supposition that Mary was the sister of Richard Pratt? I have Nancy Jane's complete family line but just a few facts on the other children. Would like to exchange any information with you so as to help each other. I have some information further back on the Doyle line but you may not be interested since you are researching Pratt. Barbara

    3. Renea; I think it is a great idea to include Henderson County on the mailing list. I research several families who lived in Henderson County. I would like information on the John Doyle family in Decatur County. He was born about 1807 amd died about 1886 in Decatur Co. He had eleven children, the oldest being Phillip and the youngest Isaac Jefferson. William Pleasant Doyle and my gr-gr-grandmother Nancy Jane Doyle Dodd are buried in Suttles Chapel Cem. in Decatur County.
