Davis and wife Clarisa cannot be the parents of this Jane Davis. Their son John William was a son-in-law to her. John B. Davis was the son of David Davis and Jane Montgomery Davis. David and his wife Jane do have a daughter Jane, but we thought her name was Mary Jane and that she married a Martin Benton. Renea, and other Autry folks, I checked my source ["Hendrex Family" by Nadine Hendrex Ballard, 1992] for the Jesse Autry md Maudie Towers data........it definitely says Towers, but she did not give individual sources for her information, and she could have made a typo. If your source is not readily available, I can have my sister call Nadine and ask her about it. (They both live in the San Antonio, TX area, and Nadine is not on e-mail.) Many of my relatives were buried in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, so they were likely in that area, but I don't know much about Tennessee. All I know is Henderson, Decatur, Benton and Carroll counties are places where they lived and died. One of these days I hope to visit and see for myself! I have a MORRIS line in Decatur and a JONES line in Henderson Co. My grandmother Curtis L. JONES was born in Parson's 22 Jan. 1898. She had two brother's Eual Hurtus JONES also born in Parson's 10 Aug 1900 he married Mary Louise HERNDON. Coy Elmer JONES born Parson's 13 July 1905 About 1906 Curtis, her brothers, father- Hugh N. JONES born MS. Jan. 1856 & mother-Mary Elizabeth MORRIS born Decatur, 8 July 1864 all moved to Wetumka, OK. Curtis died there when my dad was seven yrs. old. Curtis marr: Alva L. SMITH 1916 and died 25 May 1924 leaving three children. Hugh was the son of Joseph JONES born May 1823 NC. (mother's name was Mary born 1804 NC) he died aft. 1900 census in Henderson Co. wife was Salina born March 1838 TN. she also died aft. the 1900 census count. Their ch. were Hugh N. JONES 1856 MS.
