Athalia Taylor Decatur county Librarian Mrs. Nancy C. Daugherty, 58, passed away Monday, July 24, 2000 at Decatur County Hospital. Funeral services were held 2 PM, Wednesday, July 26 at Parsons Mortuary Chapel with Brother Robin Rotgers and Brother Rick Cottrell officiating. Interment was at Campground Cemetery in Decaturville. Mrs. Daugherty is survived by her husband, Johnny Daugherty of Parsons; one daughter, Vicki Forrester and son-in law Chuck of Parsons; three brothers, Ralph Yarbro of Memphis, Eugene Yarbro of Coldwater, MS; and J.L. Yarbro of Covington, TN; three sisters, Ruthie Middleton of Parsons, Dorthy Reeves of Darden, and Joyce Sartain of Memphis; two grandchildren Eric and Alex. Casketbearers were Don Stephens, Charles Forrester, O. Dean Barnickle, Dewey Spoon, Joe Ledbetter, and Ted Daugherty. Honorary casketbearers were Junior Daugherty, Carmac Daugherty, and Harry Stampfi. Mrs. Ellen H. Douglas, 78, passed away Thursday, July 27,2000 in Hickory Hill, Illinois. Graveside services were held at noon on Monday, July 31, with brother Tom Reed officiating. Interment was at Yellow Springs Cemetery in Holladay. Mrs. Douglas is preceded in death by her husband, Harry J. Douglas. She is survived by one daughter, Becky Howard of Bridgeview, IL; six brothers, James Hickerson of Parsons, Osco Hickerson, Wayburn Hickerson, Al Hickerson, and Mac Hickerson, all of Holladay, Bill Hickerson of AL; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers were family and friends. Mrs. Annie Mae Gwin, 59, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2000. Funeral services were held 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 30, 2000 atBond Memorial Chapel with Brother Bob Capra officiating. Interment was at 1:00 PM Monday, July 31, 2000 at Mount Tabor Cemetery in Parsons, TN. Mrs. Gwin is preceded in death by her father, Richard Smith and a brother, Russell Smith. She is survived by her husband Sam Gwin, Jr. of Mt. Juliet, TN; her mother, Mary Spellings Smith of Decaturville, TN; two sons, John A. (Rosa) Hessmer and Marty SMith McLemore both of Mt. Mr. Blackwell is preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Lou Blackwell and one daughter, Bessie Blackwell. Moore, 79, passed away Friday, July 28, 2000 at Decatur County General Hospital. Funeral services were held 2:00 PM Sunday, July 30, 2000 at Brewer Funeral Home Chapel in Parsons, TN with Brother James Keeton officiating. Interment was at Crossroads Cemetery in Parsons. Mr. Moore is preceded in death by his parents, Harbert and Montico Mayes Moore, two brothers, Joe B. Moore and Buron "Buddy" Moore; and one sister Betty Lou Mason. He is survived by his wife, Nina Coleman Moore of Decaturville, TN; three daughters, Patsy Huddleston and Elaine Essary, both of Nashville, and Janice Griggs of Decaturville; two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. Hi Renea, NO I have on given name,that is what I am looking for. My granny Mary Jane Neisler Married a Reed man supposedly in Henderson county but we do not know his first name. nor do we have a marriage date.I know granny died in in 1954 and I do not remember her as having a husband in my lifetime with her,of course I was not born until 1947 so I was not very old when she died.Sure wish we could find who her husband was. I am very happy to see all the recent activity relating to the Howell Family :) I have been researching the Howell's for the last 15 or so years making sevral trips to the Wayne/Perry county area and libraries and cemetaries. I have corresponded with sevral of you and even recieved a gedcom file from a gentleman on here that opened it up 4 generations back for me and allowed me to confirm some stuff that i had found just 1 week before in the Memphis library. I have also said that i had pictures of Fannny and Lanny Howells tombstones and that some one on here thought they did not have one. I have the pictures but I will have to look them up. Should be able to do that this saturday along with send out some information I have on the family and some bible records. What I will probly do is post them at my web site and send out the address to it since they are so big as far as pictuers and bible records. I am a 911 dispatcher and we have been really busy lately with not enough staff and just getting some new help and I have been away from my computer for about the past 2 months just being able to send e-mails and such from work. I will have to get re-organized and send out some stuff ASAP which will probly be this weekend :) Also if anyone has any infromation on the Giffords it would be GREATLY appreciated my Grand father was Willie Earl Howell his father was James Stephen Howell who married Ada Estelee Gifford(Guilford) who was the daughter of Methodist Minister William Bedford Gifford I have bible records showing W B Gifford being married 3 diffrent times and I will not even get into the first two wifes cause there is a mystery there between the bible records written by him and the marriage records and the census records that conflict so much as to insist that he was married to 2 diffrent women at the same time or possibly sisters or some such. It hurts my brain to think about it at times. If anyone has any information on this though I would be eternally gratefull. I will have the bible records and pictures of at least W B Gifford and some other relatives up by saturday evening more than likely.

Looking for information on Levi and Winnie P Holland . In 1880 Decatur County cenus Levi is 22 and Winnie P. is 18 with one child Sylvester 1 . They had a daughter Mintie that married William H Durbin . May be kin to Asa Holland whose daughter married Robert L Durbin . Don't know what time period you need, but in the l850 Henderson Co. census, there is listed a Louisa Ray with 9 children, ages 3 to 23; a Francis M. Ray, age 28, with his wife Martha and a child along with a Edwin R. Ray 22. Francis and Edwin born in Ky. There is also listed a William Ray or Hay, age 67 from Ky with his wife Mildred, 65, Ira age 35, born in Ky, Abraham 21 and Emily.
