If anyone is researching TEAGUE, would you mind checking your records for CALVIN TAYLOR TEAGUE. Calvin Taylor Teague is the son of Isaac Wilborn Teague and and Alice P. (Fuller) Teague. They may have been other children, if so, they are unknown to me. Isaac Wilborn Teague is the son of Isaac J. Teague II and Amy Rebekah Lawler. I may have stumbled onto the burial place of Alice P. (Fuller)Teague, which is currently unknown. She could be the Alice Teague buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Deport, Lamar Co., TX. Part of her tombstone is broken, so no dates are given, but according to online information, it says this Alice is 70 yrs. Several Teagues who migrated from Henderson Co. are buried in this cemetery. We Fuller researchers sure would like to locate the grave of Alice P. (Fuller) Teague. Thank you, I appreciate your help. Linda
Hi Pat, Welcome to the list! There is not a lot of activity on here these days...maybe things will pick up after the holidays. Sorry I can't answer your question about marriage records, but if you write the librarian at the library in Decatur, I'm sure she can probably help. Her name is Athalia Taylor and her e-mail address is: [email protected] This is the only Milton WEST I could find on the 1870 TN index. Does this sound like your guy? Have you found him in this census record? If not, and you think it he is yours, I can look it up on the microfilm for you if you are interested. It shows he is in Henderson Co. in 1870. WEST, MILTON B 24 M W TN HENDERSON, LEXINGTON P O 1537 56 I have a cousin that married a WEST and they currently live in Henderson Co. I believe his family is originally from Decatur Co, but I don't know anything about his family and he probably doesn't either. Ha! (I mean he is not into genealogy.) Anyway, good luck! Sandra in Illiinois [email protected] Remember the days of long ago; think about the generations past. Ask your father and he will inform you. Inquire of your elders, and they will tell you. I am trying to find a home for an old 'tin type' picture that I have found among some things from my daddy, Joel Meeks Dodson, who was born in Linden,, Perry Co, TN, 1882/1947. Under the picture is written Mrs. Clabe Dodson (Clabe could be short for Claiborne Dodson who would have been his uncle. There is another name below this that says Buds Mortem or Mortern. If anyone can identify the picture they can have it. Mary
Hello. I am new to the list and this is my first posting. I have recently discovered that my great-great grandparents (listed above) were married in Decaturville on December 10, 1865. You are so right. I've been burned a couple of times. Now I'm skeptical; sometimes even of those I know pretty well. Sad situation. Thanks. Nelle

At 09:01 PM 11/1/00 EST, you wrote: > >Does Wildersville, TN, have a city council or have records of deeds, or land >information for the area of Wildersville? I have done a lot of researching about this area. You would need to go to the library in Lexington TN. They have a genealogy room that is filled with microfilm, books, etc. and people that will help you. Also, the courthouse in Lexington would have any public records, such as deeds, etc. Good luck. Hey, I missed the Steagall part of that email. Anybody have Grace Stegall born about 1902?
Thanks to everyone who responded to my question on Wildersville, TN. Linda
Decatur Co was a part of Perry county until 1845, but not Henderson Co.Goodspeed's says that Henderson Co was originally part of the western district, created by an act of the legislature on 16 Nov 1821, but under control of Stewart Co until formal organization in 1822. In 1845 a section was cut off and added to newly forming Decatur Co and another smaller section was added to Madison Co. In 1868, a section was added to Chester Co. This list is for all 3 counties, so no problem about your question. Wildersville used to be a town with a school and more, but now is just an area with some houses. My mother was born and grew up in Wildersville area. If she gets on and reads messages, she'll be able to reply more. As for records, they will be in Lexington at the courthouse or on microfilm at the archives in Nashville. Looking for info on the Miller family, Decaturville, TN. My father's family resided in Decaturville for generations. This is the line I've traced, so far, starting with my father, working backward. Jesse Earl Miller Ruby John Miller Pendleton Wallace Miller Isaac Miller Matthew Miller Matthew Miller came to Decaturville from either North Carolina or South Carolina (depending on which source you read) but I haven't been able to find out which or from what county they came. Anyone have any suggestions as to where I go from here? Thanks, Jessica Zame
Jessica, have you tried posting a message on genforum? http://genforum.genealogy.com I suggest you post your question to the Miller, North Carolina and South Carolina message boards on genforum. I saw some queries for Miller on the Miller message board when I went to that web page. Good luck. Even though this is really the mail list for Decatur County & Perry County, I am hoping someone can help me. You may get a chuckle from my question on Wildersville but please keep in mind, I know very little about Henderson County even though I was born in Lexington. Does Wildersville, TN, have a city council or have records of deeds, or land information for the area of Wildersville? Also, if you recognize any of the locations mentioned in the information on Jordan Fuller at end of this email, I would be so grateful to hear from you. This information comes from another Fuller researcher who has plotted land grant information for Jordan Fuller. We are trying to find the GRAVES of Jordan Fuller and his brother Warren Fuller. Jordan died about 1852 and Warren died before 1830, both died in Henderson County. If we can find their graves, it is going to mean so much to the descendants of these two brothers. This location is south of Wildersville and north of Lexington, TN. "Jordan Fuller's land is in the far NW corner of the 10th/17th District overlap area. Both Essary and Hamilton Roads cross through the properties between Black Bottom and Longsought Roads. There are four cemeteries in the immediate area: Mt.Carmel, Rhodes, Browell? on Hamilton Rd., and an unnamed on Longsought Rd. north of the Hamilton Rd. intersection." Thank you all for your time in reading my message, any help is greatly appreciated. Linda-So. California
