    3. Valerie, He probably was born in Davidson Co TN and the family moved across the river. At one time Virginia went all the way to the Mississippi River, that included Illinois and Tn.....just as North Carolina was part of Viriginia too! 2 Great books to have are: Map Guide to the U.S. Federal Censuses 1790-1920 by William Thorndale and William Dollarhide. and The Handy Book for Genealogists Everton Publishers., Inc. Logan, Utah. hope this helps Cheryl On Tuesday, July 8, 2014 4:43 PM, Linda Holley <ljholley@gmail.com> wrote: Try this site - http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~george/countyformations/tennesseeformationmaps.html On Jul 8, 2014, at 6:04 PM, Dibrellion wrote: > Hi Folks, > --- > I am trying to figure out if the Nashville, Davidson County, or Cheatham County area in Tennessee could at one time have been considered to be in Illinois.
