    2. if they were buried late 1800's, mt olivet doesn't have too much of an idea of where they are buried - just an area. my ggg grandmother was buried there 1876 and i have combed the area they said she was in, but there is no longer any stone to see. linda wray lemons ---------- Original Message ---------- From: Wolfman Jack <tennessee_wolfman1978@yahoo.com> To: "tndavids@rootsweb.com" <tndavids@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [TNDAVIDS] Mt Olivet Cemetery Date: Wed, 27 Jun 2012 06:08:20 -0700 (PDT) There was a Confederate Brigadier General who was struck on the head at Shy's Hill in December 1864, during the Battle of Nashville, by a Federal officer. I think his name was Benson Smith, and he may be buried at Mt. Olivet. He was in and out of Central State Hospital roughly about the same time my great-grandfather James Lawson Steele was there. They may have known each other. Hard to say though.  James Steele died 1919, and I THINK General Smith died about 1924. 3. The records are on microfilm at the Tennessee State Library and Archives and at the Metro Nashville Archives. The interment record gives the name, section, grave # etc. The plat maps of the cemetery are also on microfilm at both archives. With the plats and interment books you should be able to determine place of burial (or very close) even without a stone.
