Hello, I'm looking for info on some related families Alfred Drake m. Lenora Huffman Alfred Drake was a son of Jonathan Drake m. Elizabeth Abernathy I believe Jonathan Drake was a son of John Drake and Elizabeth Rounsivall (sp) Lenora Huffman was a daughter of Solomon Huffman and Sarah Smith Solomon Huffman was a son of Balser Huffman and possibly Catherine Waggoner I'm unsure on the parents of Sarah Smith. Looking for any info on any of these families. Trying to confirm the Drake connection, found probate records connecting Alfred A Drake to Jonathan Drake, but looking for anything to confirm Jonathans parents. I'm also looking for anything regarding the parents of Sarah Smith who married Solomon Huffman, there are many Smiths (unsurprisingly) in Davidson County at that time. I scanned through many of the probate records of Smiths of the time but find nothing. The only thing that looked interesting is Solomon and Sarah Huffman went to Texas alongside Alfred A Drake who married their daughter.... Alfred's father Jonathan Drake (or his uncle it's unclear which Jonathan Drake) might have been assigned alongside a couple others to divy up some land to heirs of Ezekiel Smith about 1821... not a strong connection at all but Ezekiel had multiple sons who could be the father of Sarah. Additionally I'm looking for Huffman/Hoffman info, I found a probate record for the estate of Balser Huffman in which Solomon Huffman (and Cornelius Waggoner) was his executor. This seems to suggest Balser was his father (possibly grandfather though due to the age difference). It seems pretty clear Balser is the same Balser Huffman who married a Catherine Waggoner in North Carolina... he's probably over 70 by the 1820 census and in the 1830 census Solomon Huffman (who was married to Sarah Smith in 1828 in Davidson County) has someone in his household in the 80-90 range, so seems like Balser is living with his son (or grandson). Also the Waggoners of Davidson are related to the Catherine Waggoner who married Balser... Balser's daughter Elizabeth probably married Cornelius who was an executor of Balser's estate. It's unclear if Solomons mother was Catherine Waggoner (which would make Cornerlius and Elizabeth cousins of some sorts when they married). The only reference to Balser Huffman/Hoffman of North Carolina I can find suggests he died in Georgia when relations were on route (to Tennessee it seems), but it seems much more likely he's the Balser who fits the age and is living near the same families in Tennessee. Any information regarding those families would be greatly appreciated :) -- Matthew Langley
