A deed of 1807 whereby Dennis gives a life estate , to his father, Simon McClendon in Davidson Co, Tn. Simon made a will 21 Jan 1809, which was recorded/proven by April 1809 in Davidson Co, Tn. I have the McClendon line back to early 1700s in N. C. My great grandfather, WILLIAM K. McCLENDON born Jan 1838 Davidson Co, Tn was a known grandson of the above Dennis and Winifred McClendon. To date, have not been able to tell which one of the numerous sons of Dennis and Winifred, was the father of my William K. Believe his father died or left when he was in his early teens or earlier. William K. married 9 Mar 1858 Davidson Co, Tn to Lucinda BARKLEY (Barclay) born 12 June 1842 Tn. Lucinda was the daughter of Joseph Harris BARKLEY and his first wife Martha JONES. C. and wife Jane b 1793 Va. AND Cynthias younger siblings. 1860 dist 3, Davidson Co, Tn census: William K. and Lucinda McClendon & 1 child lived very near many McClendon relatives such as: his mother and his grandmother, Winifred (Green/Greer) McClendon age 80 (widow of Dennis McClendon).
