Jesse Maxwell was my 4g-gf. David was his brother. It is found in the court house record, that Jesse Maxwell's grant was the sixty-fourth in Davidson County. In locating his own lands, he also located, directly north of his own grant, the land due his brother David, for his heirs. The records in Nashville court house show, that Judge John OVERTON, bought from these heirs William and Moses, who about 1800 removed to Hamilton County, Northwest Territories, in the neighborhood of Cincinnati, the land belonging to their father. Upon this land he built his home "Traveler's Rest". Does anyone have any knowledge of Judge John Overton or the home he built "Traveler's Rest" Gene Phillips
