Seeking data on the ancestors and descendants of Samuel FITZHUGH (1765-1831) and his wife Lydia HOPKINS (abt 1765-1839). Samuel's parents were John and Mary BUSICK Fitchew/Fitzhugh of Dorchester County, MD. Samuel's paternal grandparents were Thomas and Susanna Fitchew/Fitzhugh of Dorchester County; his maternal grandparents were Richard and Elizabeth BUSICK of Dorchester County. Lydia's parents were Earle and Rachel Hopkins. Samuel and Lydia Fitzhugh moved from Dorchester County, MD, to Guilford County, NC, prior to the 1790 Census as did Earle and Rachel Hopkins. Eight children were born in North Carolina before they moved to Davidson County, TN between 1801-1804, settling on "Mill Creek" south of Nashville. Their children were Ezekiel, Richard, James E., JOHN B., Mary "Polly," Samuel F., Aerial or "Earl," Thomas Francis, and Benjamin. John B. Fitzhugh (1792-1861) married Nancy Blackman and had at least 10 children; one was my g-g-grandmother, Mary Leanne Fitzhugh, who married Presley Ward Oliphant. Bob Carney Williamsburg, VA
