Davidson County researchers: I'm seeking data on the BLACKMAN family - the siblings John, Bennett, and Ann - who arrived in Davidson Co., TN in the 1790s from Sampson Co., NC (considerable information is available pertaining to their ancestors). JOHN BLACKMAN was married to Nancy M. HAYS (second wife was Elizabeth Herring); BENNETT BLACKMAN was married to Susanna HAYS, Nancy's sister (Bennett's second wife was Ann CLINTON); ANN BLACKMAN was married to Charles HAYS, the brother of the two sisters. Additionally, a brother JAMES BLACKMAN and his wife Elizabeth Ann OATES migrated from Sampson Co. to Rutherford Co., TN in 1808 and settled at what was later to be known as the BLACKMAN COMMUNITY.
