    3. Hello again, Davidson County listers: I recently received a copy of a Davidson County document dated 1848 that gave a widow support money in the amount of $225. This represented one year's allowance from the date of her husband's death. Does anyone know how the amount of this widow's support allowance was determined? For example, was there a set amount for one year that was used as a standard? Or did this amount vary according to the size of the dead husband's estate or operating expenses to maintain his estate? Did it vary according to how many children he had? And if there were children involved, would they be mentioned in this type of document? Jeanne Johnson
