Dews, b. c.1826, Halifax Co., VA, d. 6-15-1849, Davidson Co., TN, married Elizabeth Woods 4. James Porter Dews, b. 10-4-1874, Davidson Co., TN, d. ?, married Joella Raymer This is my direct line of descent. Besides Curtis Dews, the other children of Reuben were: Alcey, Kirk, Reuben D., Pinkney (b. 1815), Mary (b. 1821), William (b. 1823), Blueford (b. 1829), and Doc(?) (b. 1831). The other children of Curtis Dews (besides James P.) were: John (b. 1849), Henry Allen (b. 1853), Bethan (Kitty) (b. 1856), Jackson B.
