There is a Francis Ramsey who was one of the early settlers of Knox County. His home is still standing and is used each year for a heritage fair on the grounds. Many of the early families of Knox county came from Augusta County. I have said that if someone had put the families of Augusta county, Virginia in a hat and turned it upside down, most of them would have landed in the Knox county area.
