I'm working to identifying all of the early Drakes in Davidson Co. From the will of John Drake (1835) and B.W. Drake (1841), I've determined that John Drake is the father of Blount W. Drake and also that John had another son named John Drake who had two sons, Alfred Drake and John Drake. The elder John Drake married Elizabeth Rounsevall. John was born about 1761. Blount W. Drake's grave was found on a private Drake family cemetery that I visited this sumner at the former lands on which my father and generations of Drakes before him lived in Jordonia area of Nashville. Thus, his line is probably related to mine. I think John Drake (b. 1761) was a son of Benjamin Drake, Sr who signed the Cumberland Compact in 1778 and from whom I descend thru his son Benjamin, Jr. I'd like to connect with anyone researching any of these lines mentioned and also the Rousevall surname.
