Brenda, if you are just trying to find out if your great-great aunt was actually in the hospital, you might try the census for that county. I live in a county where there wa/is a state mental hospital and the 'inmates' are included in the census listings for 1900, 1910, and 1920. Occupations are even listed for some of the inmates in the 1900 and 1910; only 'none' is shown for all of them in the 1920 census.
