    3. Did you work on the ships' logs concerning these surnames to see when they immigrated? Many came in through Pennsylvania and then spread out to other states. Try ships with German registry first and look at the ports. I have German ancestry and worked it from that angle. A few in that time frame came in from Canada and then down to the US. Just a thought.
