His infamous father, Jesse James, is living there under the alias, J. D. Howard. The elder James presents himself to his unsuspecting neighbors as a grain dealer and a lover of fine horses. Sometimes he plays cards with the local police. Jesse's equally infamous brother, Frank, lives down the street under the alias, Ben J. Woodson.
