i think the metro archives may be open saturday mornings as well - they are just outside downtown if you need things just from davidson they have a fair amount of microfilms with deeds, graves, probates, newspapers etc - not sure how far back they go, but if you go to the site, its should give you info and directions, the staff is friendly there. most of the things at the library are in published books. -- "Charlene Uchtman" <[email protected]> wrote: This is very helpful information to me. When coming in from out of state it is amazing what I don't know that locals or more knowledgeable people take for granted. Thanks so much. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of John Baker Sent: Friday, September 07, 2007 12:09 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [TNDAVIDS] Research Information Not sure if the archives are open on Saturday ... but the Main Nashville Public Library is. They have an extensive genealogy section (upstairs). It is located at 615 Church Street and their hours tomorrow are 9a - 5p. There is a parking garage behind/underneath ... unsure of cost or library affiliation, but it is most convenient place to park, which can be difficult to find on the street, and somewhat $$ in the public lots website is http://www.library.nashville.org/ On Sep 7, 2007, at 12:37 PM, Charlene Uchtman wrote: > I have just this moment subscribed to the Davidson County list and > need to > pick someone's brain that is familiar with this area.
