BROWN has bargained, sold, and delivered to Morgan Brown, his father, for $1,000 "my negro man Charles and my negro boy Jo, commonly called Anderson, and my negro boy Lucien commonly called Bogy, and my negro boy Philip. Also all my library of books of law, and miscellaneous collections, and particularly those willed to me by my late brother William L. BROWN deceased." Morgan W. BROWN has borrowed and received $1,000 which he promises to pay six months after date with interest from this day. "And if legislature shall make a higher rate of interest recoverable by law then I promise to pay that higher rate (not exceeding ten per cent). If the debt is paid, then this bill or deed of sale shall be void. Witness my hand & seal this 17th day of October A.D. 1832 M.W.
