The 1910 federal census, which is difficult to read for many pages, in Enumeration District 100, lists an institution called "St. Marys ...... School...". All of the children listed are called Inmates. Most appear to be elemtary age on the page I'm reviewing. Can anyone identify this school from the little I've shown above? Was it an orphanage?
The first page listing calls the institution St. Mary's Orphanage. The following pages say St. Mary's Orphanage School. After the Sisters, there are 23 children listed as "pupils" and the rest "inmates". My guess is the pupils attend the school, but the inmates also live there. They are all called students under occupation. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, December 22, 2006 10:17 AM Subject: [TNDAVIDS] 1910 Census listing > The 1910 federal census, which is difficult to read for many pages, in > Enumeration District 100, lists an institution called "St. Marys ...... > School...".
