    3. Mary I believe the John, James and Thomas Maxwell you have here were William's brothers but George doesn't fit in this family. I have the stories of John's daughters being killed by Indians and James being killed by Indians. I had heard that they were at Kings Mountain but hadn't found any records of it so I really appreciate you sending it for me. I think their brother, Audley, was also there. 3. George Maxwell is in my family. Here's a short descenancy Chart David Maxwell b 1731 Lancaster Co VA. m. Nellie McCoullough. David's parents immigrated from County Donegal Ireland. Their Children were all born in VA as far as I know, probably Washington or Augsta Co. Jean Maxwell b 1750 m. Thomas Sharp went to KY George Maxwell b. 1751 m. Jane Fairfax lived in Hawkins Co TN. He had a land grant on Mansker's Lick but never occupied it. Rebecca Maxwell b 1753 m. John Anderson lived Scott County VA Jesse Maxwell (my gggg-gf) b 1757. m Anne Armstrong. lived in Hawkins Co. until 1797 when they moved to his land grant south of Nashville is what is now the Crieve Hall area in Brentwood. James Maxwell b. 1757. Can't find anything that ties him in for sure. David Maxwell b. ? killed early on by Indians. I think he may have been the oldest because he was named after his father. Possibly 2 more sisters. One marred Mr. Agnew, another married Mr. Wallace. The LDS messed this family up. They merged Jean with a Lady Jean Maxwell who lived in Scotland. I also think they had the wrong birthdate for Jesse. A history of the family I have written in the 1920s said he was born in Lancaster Co before they moved to VA. Jesse and Anne were buried in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Patterson's Knob. The church burnt down and was never rebuilt. All that is left of the cemetery is weathered stones. If you would like to read copy of the Maxwell History I have I can send a copy direct to you. It was written by Mary "Mollie" Maxwell Claiborne. She lived in Maxwell Hall from the age of 10 years old. Most of her information came from a diary written by her mother. Unfortunately, she trused the post office to deliver the diary to the state archives. It never made it. She never made a copy and her manuscript was done from memory of the diary years after she mailed it off. 3. The LDS did not mess this family up, the person who submitted the information messed the family up. LDS usually just safe-guards the info given to them. They did send people out to county courts, etc. a long time ago and copied records if allowed. But usually what you find as far as family histories has been submitted by someone. I have found several submitted histories full of errors......that is why you use those as a place to start. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gene Phillips" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, July 13, 2007 12:39 AM Subject: Re: [TNDAVIDS] Col.
