He led a very interesting life. I descend from the aunt of Rev. D. C. Kelly, Frances Kelley who married John W. Peyton of Wilson Co. TN. Name: David Campbell Kelly Son of John Kelly and Lavinia Margaret Campbell. Grandson of Soldier of the Revolution Dennis Kelly and wife Elizabeth Thompson. Birth: 25 Dec 1833 in , Wilson, Tennessee Death: 15 May 1909 in Nashville, Davidson, Tennessee Burial: Mount Olivet Cem, Sect 15 Lot 29, Nashville, Davidson, Tennessee Sixty years a minister of the Methodist Church A Slave owner Married 3 times A cavalry Colonel under Nathan Bedford Forrest in the Civil War A candidate for Governor of Tennessee on the Prohibition ticket in 1890 He was a wealthy Slave owner. The 1860 Census shows that he owned real estate valued at $35,000 and personal property valued at $10,000. He was married three times. Owen. They were forced to return to the U.S. due to Manerva's ill health. Their first child was born and died on the ship as they traveled to their assignment.     3. I am guessing that my grandfather's first cousin Dr. David Campbell Kelley Binkley was named for Rev. Kelley. He was the son of Joseph Shackleford Binkley and Martha Buchanan Steele, who lived in Davidson County near the Wilson County line. Dr. Binkley, who was born in 1857 and who died in 1928, practiced medicine in Humphreys County.
