William "Henry" Wright once told a grandson that his parents died young and that he had a sister that he lost touch with and couldn't find. Looking at census records, in 1880, Davidson Co., TN, I find Marina WRIGHT (Dec. 1812 - d. after 1900 census), living as a widow with her grandson, William (13) and granddaughter Anna (15), next door to two of her sons, Aron WRIGHT (b. May 1839) and George W. WRIGHT (b. Feb. 1843) and their families. When Marina was widowed sometime between the 1860 and 1870 census, Marina went to live with one of her sons, Moses M. WRIGHT, b. ca 1836. On the 1880 census, Moses is not found at all. This family lived their whole lives in Davidson County, TN. Marina WRIGHT appeared on the 1900 census at age 87. I would like to determine if Moses WRIGHT was my great-grandfather's father. I would also like to know the cemetery where Marina WRIGHT is buried. Her husband (James W. WRIGHT, b. ca 1791) and Moses may be buried nearby. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks! Julia in Northern Idaho --------------------------------- Cheap Talk? Check out Yahoo! Julia, I just sent you some copies of census pages found on ancestry.com. which showed that the William and Anna Wright you wrote about were the children of William (Sr.) and Emma Wright. Here are a couple of more pieces of information about your Wright family that I found: 1. From the book, "Marriages of Davidson Co. TN, 1789-1847", by Edythe Rucker Whitley: James W. Wright married MARIANNE CLEMENT Dec 15, 1831. The ceremony was performed by a relative of my line, Rev. James Whitsitt, who was a Baptist minister. Rev James Whitsitt was the pastor of the Mill Creek Baptist Church in Nashville. Some of your Wrights or Clements may very well have been members of this Church, and may be buried there. The Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery has at least a hundred unmarked/unreadable stones.
