I am new to this list. I wonder if someone might be able to tell me where I can find an obituary for a Lee A Burnside who died in Antioch, TN on 18 November 2002. I know his parents names and also his siblings - interested if he had any children. Lee was born in Youngstown, OH in 1927. Thank you for any help! Linda Holley
Taneya the information on the website refers to the online indexes for records.. Original wills are indexed through 1920 and will books through 1902 and the indexes are available on the website. Metro Nashville Archives has original wills and will books through 1949, at the Green Hills location. There is no comprehensive index after the dates given above. If a person left a will of record in Davidson County 1949 or before, a copy can be made from the will book. The original will may also be available. After 1949 you must contact the probate court for the will books. Metro Archives has the original wills 1950-1992 in storage but a date of probate or docket number must be obtained from probate court before those wills can be accessed. -----Original Message----- From: Taneya <taneya@gmail.com> To: DebieCox <DebieCox@aol.com> Sent: Thu, Jul 26, 2012 10:01 pm Subject: Fwd: [TNDAVIDS] Davidson Co, Tenn wills Hi Debie - the metro archives has wills from 1936? Does anyone know to where one writes to obtain a copy of an original will filed in Davidson Co in 1936? Thanks! Don Drake
Mary June, do you have any information on Owen Winifred Prather who married Martha Elizabeth Porter sometime around 1925? I have information on their children, mostly from the Prather/Moore site on Ancestry, so no proof, but I list 12 children. They lived in NM, I think. Let me know if you are interested. The records are on microfilm at the Tennessee State Library and Archives and at the Metro Nashville Archives. The interment record gives the name, section, grave # etc. The plat maps of the cemetery are also on microfilm at both archives. With the plats and interment books you should be able to determine place of burial (or very close) even without a stone.
