Can anyone tell me if there was an early Quaker church presence in the Nashville area? My family line was there by 1825 and appears to have had Quaker ties earlier in N.C. Any details would be helpful. Thanks. Chuck Burress CBurress@tcia.net
In the 1870 Davidson Co. census, I found a W R Looney, age 51, with wife, Sarah. age 47. Their children were John, 20; Isola, 16; Sallie, 10; Isaac, 30 (with his wife, Carry, 20); and Robert, 24 (with his wife Alice, 18). I believe that Robert is my gggrandfather. But I need some more information. Does anyone have these people in their tree? Or could some kind soul with access to the 1880 census find Robert Looney? He should have atleast one child named Mary or Pollie, age 1 or under. His wife in the 1880 census could be Cora. Thankyou. Kiva Purkett

To join the TNWILSON-L mailing list in mail mode, where you get each message individually, then send an email to: TNWILSON-L-request@rootsweb.com and place only the word subscribe in the body of the message If your email program requires a subject, then use the same word subscribe If DIGEST mode is preferred (where you get several messages combined into one email, rather than numerous individual messages) ...(Nancy's note....the DIGEST mode works best for those who are on AOL like me) To join in DIGEST mode, then send an email to: TNWILSON-D-request@rootsweb.com with only one word in the body of the message subscribe If your email program requires a subject, then use subscribe .If you'd like to post a message so everyone on the mailing list receives it, just send email to TNWILSON-L@rootsweb.com It will then be sent on to everyone in both mail and digest mode. You don't need to send it explicitly to both. You will get confirmation back that you have been sucessfully subscribed...(which will also include instruction on how to "unsubscribe").... YOU must subscribe for yourself from the email address you want the mail sent to.....no one else can do it for you.... however, if you need help, contact Greg Tomerlin at: greg.tomerlin@nashville.com

Juanita, Just two questions. What in the world is SLC and where in the world is SLC located? Sometimes we forget that all of us are not savvy to the current languages of different avenues of interests. Margaret
