    1. Ramsey research
    2. Hello, I copied this account of a death from the Knoxville Gazette printed in September, 1792. I wonder if anyone could tell me where "Estanaula" might be and which Mr. Ramsey is referred to in this article? "On the 24th ult. the Creeks killed and scalped Mr. Ramsey, an old resident among the Cherokees, and a person newly arrived from Charleston, at the Beloved Town of Estanaula (among the Cherokees) in open day, declaring it was their orders and determination to kill the Virginians wherever they found them, (for thus they call the citizens of the United States)" I am researching the Thomas Ramsey family from southwestern Virginia. (Thomas son of Josiah Ramsey of Botetourt, Washington, Montgomery, later Wythe county VA.) Any clues or thoughts would be appreciated. Rose Jefrobo@aol.com

    2. Looking for my father's family. Leonard Lindley FORD (my father) died in 1956 in Nashville Tenn. His parents were Birdie Monroe Ford and Nancy Bell RITTENBERRY Ford. It is the Ford line I am researching (though I would welcome info on my grandmother's family as well). One of her sisters married someone named WILCHER. I remember my father's cousin-Ethel WEBB and her daughter- Mildred BURNETT both of Nashville. My grandmother saved an obit of a Will Ford of Baxter,Tenn. Thought this might be my grandfather's brother. If anyone has any leads I would be grateful. Both my grandparents and my father died when I was young and we moved to Kentucky with my mother's family, so I knew very few of my father's relatives. Thanks for any help. Linda Qualls

    1. Davidson Co. Wills online
    2. Friends of Metro Archives Web site. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/3661/ We have the beginnings of the Index of Original Wills of Davidson Co., on line, Aaron through Ezell. This is a listing of the extant original wills that were filed with the probate court. If you do not find the person you are seeking in the index it is still important to check the index for the Will Books as the original will may no longer exist. The link is on the main page at the URL given above. Go to the look-up page to find a link to the online Davidson County Marriages and for information on the records we can do lookups in. Also check our links pages for some very good links for Davidson Co., and Tennessee research. Thanks, Debie Friends of Metro Archives Web site. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/3661/
