The Nashville Room of the Public Library of Nashville and Davidson County has a book indexing the obituaries published in the Tennessean: Book Title: Index to classified obituaries, the Tennessean I'm not sure which years it covers (except they are not recent). I wrote the library several years ago and they located an obituary for me in the book index and then printed a copy from their microfilm collection of the Tennessean and mailed it to me. The fee was quite reasonable at the time. I don't know if they still offer this service.
A copy of the death certificate of Eliz. A. Clark http://www.tennessee.gov/tsla/history/vital/tndeath.htm can be obtained from the TN State Lib & Archives. The Tennessee State Library and Archives had an online index of death certificates that spans 1908-1912 (http://www.tennessee.gov/tsla/history/vital/death2.htm) & 1914-1928 (http://www.tennessee.gov/tsla/history/vital/tndeath.htm). They a regularly add years to the latter, so it's worth continuing to check back. At the TSLA itself, you can access death certificates up to 1958. Also, the Shelby County Register of Deeds site had a statewide index of deaths from 1949-2005 which includes Davidson County - http://register.shelby.tn.us/ I hope this helps you find what you're looking for.

Dear List, I have rescued 3 old photographs of the Bronson & Hemenway family. They are all taken at different places, but they are all the same size, and have the same handwritting on back side. All of them are 2 1/4" by 3 1/2".They are all clear, and have no damage. They are listed below: 1. (unclear: How J. Cooken in 1864) Below that (in same handwritting as on the other 2 photos) it says Orin Bronson. Photo taken by Hall's Gallery of Photography, Nashville, Tenn. (printed on back). Handwritten below tht is is written: 1864. 2. Samuel Hemenway, photo taken by Campbell Photographer, Burlington, Iowa. This is a full length photo of a man, and I would judge it to be in the same time-frame as the first photo. 3. Diana Delia Bronson hemenway. This is a portrait only photo. Tken by John Cadwallader, Toledo, Ohio. I try to rescue old photos that are identified on the back and return them to their families. If you are interested in these photos, please contact me at: jmje36@embarqmail.com as I am not always on this site. Thank you, Judy in TX
